New Music Video for “Waltz” and Album SHOT OF BLUE Out November 1st

"Waltz" is one of my favorite songs from the new album SHOT OF BLUE. Even though it has an undercurrent of pending loss, a great joy comes through, lifting the entire song.

I tried to convey both emotions in this video. I wrote a script that called for real locations and actors. It was an intense two-day shoot, and I loved every minute of it. The main element is a small club where a band is performing the song. The only people in the club are a young couple who dance alone as if it is their last night together.

James Fearnley (formerly of The Pogues and now of The Walker Roaders) plays accordion on the track, and he graciously came in to play in the video as part of the band.

The song is rooted in a loss I experienced a few years ago. I shot the video in B&W and color to accentuate the different moments in time so the whole thing would play like a lush, cinematic dream.

The full music video and the album will be released on Friday, November 1st. I'm having a little album release party on my Facebook Page and Instagram account that day. Please join me for at least 30 minutes of live streaming at 10:30 a.m. PST. I may or may not be drinking at that time, but please feel free to bring shots of your own to toast with! It is a special day.
