Genre: Alt-Rock
Released: September 25, 2013
The Black & Blue Orkestre originated as a trans-Atlantic cyber collaboration between Tom DiCillo and guitarist Will Crewdson in 2012 when the two discovered they shared an infatuation with surf guitar and spaghetti western twang. It was through Will's encouragement that Tom began writing and recording. Their earliest collaboration was on 16 Tons which DiCillo rearranged after financing from one of his films fell through for the 16th time.
Will introduced Tom to Grog Lisee, lead singer, songwriter and bassist with the band Die So Fluid. Together the threesome recorded the album Hurt Me Tender by sending tracks back and forth between NYC, LA and London.
Time and circumstance have led all three to pursue their own individual paths but the winds of creation blow in mysterious ways.
Cool sounds, Tom.
Best,
Steve Treado
